Deli
My name is Gharan Burton and I do the deli here at the co-op. I would like to thank Carol for giving me the job to work here and my girlfriend Kim for remembering me when the position became available. I am from Dominica which is a small is land in the Caribbean.
I am a recent graduate of the Midwestem State University in Wichita Falls, Texas; where I received my Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A) in painting and scupture. Working at the Co-op has been an interesting experience for me, and my background in vegetarian cooking has helped me in working in the kitchen. The Co-Op has always been an interesting place to find healthy food and meet good people.
I work at the Co-op on a part-time basis and the transition to working there is coming along gradually. I make wraps , muffins, cookies and also cook lunch for the staff on the days that I work. I hope to expand the deli menu in the near future, to include some traditional Dominican desserts and goodies. I intend to provide healthy snacks, lunch, dinner, goodies etc... to the people in a regular basis. I believe that a good Co-op is an essential part of a healthy community and havinggood food prepared for the store's customers is also an important part of the Co-op today.
